Out-Standing Currents

Half-ripe currents in a photo where one branch is outside the photo frame

9/3/18

The theme for this week’s challenge is Out of the Frame. A quick internet search will give you lots of different examples and directions to do the technique. In most cases it means some careful selecting and masking, then a generic shape with shadows to clip the image into the “photo”.  In this case, I’ve used to of my own images; the half-ripe currents and a cloudy sky over Anchor Bay. The lady bugs are from PixelSquid. If you haven’t heard of PixelSquid, check them out — they provide thousands of 3D objects and a neat plug in that lets you put them into Photoshop, then tip and spin the object until it matches what’s already in the PS file. If you do much compositing, the subscription will pay for itself.
